Hi Changch,

Thanks for reaching out!I know I did a lot of searching online when I was making my decision as well and it was helpful to find some opinion articles for people who had attended.

As for your questions, I completed General Assembly’s part-time 10-week UX course before attending NN/g. They were both helpful in some different ways. At General Assembly, I learned the process of UX sort of start to finish. In those 10 weeks, I created a problem statement, did research, worked on wireframes, completed usability testing, etc. It was a way to experience all parts of the process in a contained environment.

NN/g focused more directly on pieces of the process. For example, one day was spent entirely on usability testing. I learned a lot about different methods and techniques and was also able to practice within groups. It was great to be able to do this with people who had a bit more experience than me and to be able to practice in a stress-free area. I would say with certain topics like this, I definitely apply what I learn in my job. I will say the journey mapping class I took has been the least applicable. And not because I don’t think that information was invaluable, I just haven’t used that skill in any positions of mine.

I hope this helps a little bit!
